One little workshop. Some very peculiar customers.
A whole village waiting for your light.

Carve a pumpkin. Watch the pieces fall. Light up someone's night.

Welcome to Pumpkin Workshop, a cozy 3D pumpkin-carving game set on the evening of the Lantern Festival. Take your place at Old Bento's candlelit workbench, pick up your tools, and turn each customer's request into a glowing jack-o'-lantern before midnight.

English UI and dialogue. All images and clips below are captured from the game.

Carving a glowing pumpkin at Old Bento's workshop. English gameplay.

That last cut. That little tumble. That glow.

Follow the pattern with your knife and cut through the pumpkin's voxel shell. Close an outline and the loose piece drops onto the workbench, revealing the warm light inside. Scrape away layers with the spoon, sketch guides with the marker, and rotate the pumpkin to reach designs around the sides and back.

  • Six handcrafted orders: from a classic grin to whiskers, fangs, a pirate's skull, a moonlit design, and Granny Brigid's stubborn rutabaga.
  • Customers with character: hand over the lantern and watch its owner turn it around, inspect your work and react.
  • A little craft, a little challenge: earn up to three stars per order for shape, clean cuts, preserved details and time.
  • A keepsake of your craft: save a photo card of your finished lantern and share your handiwork.
  • Your pace: work against the clock or enable Relaxed mode to carve without the timer.
  • One complete festival night: complete your commissions and discover which of three artisan titles you've earned.

Your first lantern

Choose Start the Night to begin. Read the request on the chalkboard, follow the guides on the pumpkin, and watch the checklist fill in as you work. When you're happy, press DELIVER to hand it over.

Tip: trace a complete outline to release a piece. Use the spoon for shallow scraping and glowing details. Check the other side before you deliver!

About this jam project

Created for the Ultimate AI-Powered Game Jam #5, with PUMPKIN at the heart of every interaction: the pumpkin is the material you shape, the customer's commission and the light of the festival.

The second theme, RUTABAGA: Granny Brigid brings a tougher root-vegetable commission. Her dense lantern calls for shallow knife scoring and deeper work with the spoon, while keeping its crooked teeth intact.

AI & production: developed with Claude Code (Anthropic), as credited in-game. Built in Godot; voxel models generated with Python/NumPy and exported through Blender. Carvable pumpkins are generated procedurally in Godot. Music and sound effects are synthesized by the project's own tools. Fonts: Lilita One and Nunito (SIL Open Font License).

Which customer's lantern would you put in your window? Tell us your favorite order—and whether you chased three stars or took the cozy route.
